As a digital artist I’m beginning to reach the point where having a resume is important. Unfortunately, up until recently I did not have a resume. So I set out to change that. I dusted off my copy of InDesign and got to work writing myself in the best light. Fortunately for me, I had some fellow designers – both students and industry specialists – on hand to help me with that part. The design, however, was up to me. But as anyone who reads my blog regularly will know that I find branding to be both interesting and important. Therefore, I had a strong personal brand to base my design off of. Using my new favorite Illustrator plugin I created a custom icon set and, using simple soft circles, created an elegant left-aligned design that had plenty of whitespace without lacking in information. I’m quite proud of the results and I hope potential employers will be, too. If you want to check out my design for inspiration (or if you’d like to hire me!) you can find my resume in the content section of my website.
